Bastion Privacy Notice

Effective July 19, 2026

Private-demo boundary. The Bastion demonstration workspace uses public documents from the Opioid Industry Documents Archive. Do not upload client-confidential, privileged, health, or other sensitive matter content to a demo workspace.

Scope

This notice describes the Bastion website and client applications. A law-firm deployment may have additional contractual terms, configuration-specific disclosures, retention schedules, and approved subprocessors. Those deployment documents control where they differ from this general notice.

Information processed

AI-assisted features and service providers

Depending on the deployment, an AI-assisted feature may send the minimum content needed for the requested task to an approved model provider. The provider, purpose, region, retention setting, and applicable contractual terms must be documented for that deployment before confidential matter content is introduced. Bastion does not use workspace content for advertising or sell it. Any model-training restriction is governed by the configured provider and customer terms; it should not be inferred from the public demo.

Security

Supported clients use TLS for data in transit to the configured Bastion service. Access uses per-user credentials and revocable tokens. Native clients can use device-owner authentication. These controls do not constitute a claim of end-to-end encryption, zero data retention, HIPAA compliance, or any other certification unless a firm has separate written evidence for its specific deployment.

Local storage, retention, and deletion

Native clients may cache recent read-only workspace responses for offline access for up to 24 hours. Current clients separate that cache by signed-in account and remove cached workspace responses, local document notes, and recent attachment targets on sign-out or session expiry. Server-side account data, workspace content, and audit records follow the configured workspace retention schedule. Contact the workspace administrator for access or deletion requests.

Legal-professional use

Bastion is litigation-support software for legal professionals. It does not provide legal advice, create an attorney-client relationship, or replace counsel's independent verification of quotations, citations, deadlines, and conclusions.
